Violet Simms, 95, Dec. 18, 1915 - Jul. 7, 2011

Violet Simms died at her home in Wheaton Thursday, Jul. 7. She was 95.

She was born December 18, 1915 in England. She worked as an executive secretary at Marsh McClennan Insurance in downtown Chicago. After her retirement she worked at the College of DuPage. She was an avid gardener, traveler, and was a member of the Wheaton History Club, Wheaton Department Club, and the First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton.

She is survived by her nephew, Jack; her beloved caregiver, Linda; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jack and Maggie Simms; and her brother, Jack.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jul. 13 a.m. until the time of a funeral service 11:00 a.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., in Wheaton.
