Volunteers Sought For Cleanup Efforts Along Prairie Path

The annual event welcomes families, groups and individuals to pitch in to help keep Prairie Path clean.

WHEATON, IL — As the weather warms up, it's time once again for the Prairie Path Cleanup in Wheaton. The annual event welcomes individuals, groups and families to come together to help brighten and preserve the trail's natural surroundings.

The cleanup, which is open to all ages, is set for April 29 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Attendees are encourage to bring work gloves and meet up at Prairie Path and Lincoln Avenue.

Similar events will be held along the more than 60-mile Illinois Prairie Path to coincide with Earth Day.

2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the Prairie Path's inception. A news release said, "Cleaning litter from all miles of the Illinois Prairie Path and Great Western Trails is a huge task. It simply could not be done without hundreds of volunteers."
