The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning for DuPage County from midnight Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 through noon on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015. Wind chill values are predicted to reach -30 to -35 degrees Fahrenheit.
There are several places where residents can take shelter from the cold if needed. The Wheaton Public Library, 225 N. Cross St., will serve as a warming shelter during its normal business hours, which are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The Wheaton train stations will also serve as warming shelters and will be open 24 hours starting at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening through 6 p.m. on Thursday. The downtown Wheaton station is located at West Street and Front Street, and the College Avenue station is located at College Avenue and President Street.
