Watch District 200 Employees Take 'Boiling Water Challenge'

The district also thanked its facilities team for their hard work during the dangerously cold temperatures.

WHEATON, IL -- Schools in Community Unit District 200 may have been closed Wednesday and Thursday, but that didn't stop some adventurous employees from studying a little bit of science. The district's facilities team made the rounds early Thursday to make sure the heat was in working order at all District 200 schools. Afterwards, they braved the sub-zero temps to take part in the "boiling water challenge."

In the video, you can see the workers with coffee cups full of boiling water in hand. As they toss the boiling water into the air, the steam freezes and creates a snow-like effect.

In the Facebook post of the video, district officials praised the facilities team for their "dedication" in the frigid temperatures that swept the area Wednesday and Thursday.
