Wheaton North came back from a 25-point deficit on Saturday to defeat Fenwick High School’s Friars 32-31 and advance to quarterfinal play against Lake Zurich.
The Falcons, seeded No. 5 in Class 7A football, fell behind by 25 points to the No. 4-seed Friars at Elmhurst College's Langhorst Field, the Chicago Tribune reports. But the Falcons pushed back, with quarterback Clayton Thorson throwing five touchdown passes.
The 9-2 Falcons Face Lake Zurich next in a game whose date and location has yet to be announced by the Illinois High School Association.
