Weltler To Take Helm As Monroe Middle School Principal
Outgoing Lake Zurich High School Principal Ashley Weltler got approval from District 200 to start as its next principal in July.
WHEATON, IL — A new principal has been selected to take the helm at Monroe Middle School. Ashley Weltler was approved by the Community Unit School District 200 Board of Education during their April 12 meeting.
Weltler joins District 200 after serving as principal of academics, assessment and innovation at Lake Zurich High School. She's also been as assistant principal, dean and athletic director at Geneva Middle School.
Before starting her career, Weltler earned bachelor's degree in Spanish at Michigan State University before getting her masters in educational leadership at Concordia University and a masters degree in teaching and learning from DePaul.

"Ashley has an incredible instructional background at both the middle and high school levels," District 200 Superintendent Dr. Jeff Schuler said in a statement.
He added, "Her experience and skill set are a strong foundation for her work in District 200."

In her own statement, Weltler said, "I am honored to join the District 200 team and thrilled to serve the students, staff, and families of Monroe Middle School. I believe strongly in providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging school environment which inspires in everyone a passion to excel. I look forward to meeting, knowing, and partnering with the Monroe community!"
Weltler will start her role as Monroe's principal on July 1.
