West Chicago Makes 1 DUI Arrest, Issues 15 Other Tickets During Super Bowl Crackdown
The increased patrols were part of a statewide traffic safety initiative during Super Bowl weekend.
WEST CHICAGO, IL — The West Chicago Police Department issued 15 tickets and made one DUI arrest amid increased patrols during Super Bowl weekend.
Police say the citations were issued for violations that included speeding, driving without a license and transporting alcohol illegally.
"Motorists should understand that we are serious about cracking down on impaired drivers and seatbelt and other traffic safety law violators," West Chicago Police Commander Adam Reavley shared in a statement.

He added, "We do it to save lives. Whether it's alcohol, cannabis or other drugs, impaired driving puts everyone at risk."
The initiative was part of a statewide traffic safety campaign that began Feb. 6 and concluded early Feb. 9.
