West Chicago Man Charged With Possession of Child Porn

A 72-year-old West Chicago man faces possession of child pornography charges following an investigation by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.

James Borchering, of the 0N700 block of Prairie Crossing in West Chicago, was arrested Wednesday and charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, which is a class 2 felony, according to a DuPage County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The sheriff’s office sexual predator electronic exploitation division conducted an online investigation referencing the downloading of child pornography on the internet. A search warrant was executed at the Borchering’s home where electronics were removed from the home.

A forensic examination of the electronics revealed the presence and distribution of child pornography files, according to the news release.

Borchering is currently being held in the DuPage County Jail and is expected in bond court at 8 am. Thursday.
