Wheaton Coronavirus Update: 71 New Cases In Past Week

As of press time, Wheaton has had 912 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.

WHEATON, IL — The number of coronavirus cases in Wheaton has increased by 71 cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD).

As of Oct. 14, there had been 841 cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of Oct. 21 was 912.

In nearby Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases had increased by 69. On Oct. 14, the village had reported 653 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 722 as of Oct. 21.

Wheaton has had 25 confirmed deaths since the county started tracking its coronavirus numbers, DCHD data shows.

To date, there have been a total of four coronavirus-related deaths in the village, DCHD reports.

According to the DCHD website, there were no active coronavirus cases in Glen Ellyn as of Oct. 21. In contrast, there was one active case in Glen Ellyn on Oct. 14. According to county health officials, these numbers could be "much higher" due to unreported cases.
