Wheaton Police Arrest Winfield Man For Possession of Child Porn

The Wheaton Police Department arrested a 27-year-old Winfield man Friday on possession of child porn charges.

Kevin R. Smith was has been charged with two class 2 felony counts of unlawful possession of child pornography following an “extensive undercover investigation by the Wheaton Police Department,” according to a Wheaton Police Department press release.

The Internet Crimes Against Children (I.C.A.C.) Task Force Computer Forensic Unit and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General assisted in the investigation.

Smith is being held at the DuPage County Jail on a $30,000 bail.
