Wheaton Police Chief Stepping Down For Job At College Of DuPage
Police Chief James Volpe's last day with the Wheaton Police Department will be June 24.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton Police Chief James Volpe, who has been with the department for 35 years, is leaving his post to pursue a new opportunity at College of DuPage. Volpe's last day will be on June 24, according to a release from city officials.
Volpe began his career as a patrol officer in 1983 and then moved up through the ranks. He became chief of police in 2015.
In a statement, Volpe acknowledged the importance of a healthy relationship between Wheaton Police and community members. He said, "This has been a wonderful community to serve over the past 35 years, and I thank the community for their continued support of the Wheaton Police Department."
