Wheaton Public Library Features the History of St. Nicholas

Sunday, December 7 at 2pm, Wheaton Public Library will feature the History of St. Nicholas program performed by Terry Lynch of HFK Presents.

You’d better watch out! The Old English Father Christmas tells the stories of St. Nicholas, the protector of children throughout the ages. Learn about the origins of St. Nicholas characters in various countries, popular Christmas symbols, worldwide Christmas traditions, and more! Bring the whole family, great for all ages!

The young at heart will hear stories about the traditions of St. Nicholas throughout the world. The Yuletide spirit will come shining through as audience members learn the answer to such questions as: Where did the Christmas tree originate? Why do we give gifts? Why do we hang Christmas stockings? Audience members will truly feel the festive holiday spirit after this program!

Authors of two books: Mistakes Happen: An Historical Guide to Overcoming Adversity and Nicholas Comes to America, the Story Of Santa Claus, Lynch and his wife Laura, an educator, began HFK Presents, an offshoot of their company Histories for Kids, Inc., as a way to bring history to life for adults and children of all ages.
