Wheaton Rotary Hosting Christmas Inn Fundraiser December 6

The Rotary Club of Wheaton will be hosting its 27th Annual Christmas Inn Dinner and Silent/Live Auction on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The event will be held at The Abbington Banquets, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. At last year’s event, the club raised over $70,000 for local, national and international service projects. A portion of the event’s donations went to the purchase of service and therapy dogs for disabled Veterans.

Last year, the Rotary Club of Wheaton supported several international projects including a Clean Water Project in Armenta, Honduras and a project in Peru for an organization offering assistance and vocational training for unwed mothers and their children. Local projects included: the purchase of 1700 backpacks for low-income school children, $9,000 in scholarships for local students, $10,000 toward the DuPage County Health Department’s New Community Center and $25,000 toward the New Sensory Garden Playground. Continued donor and community support is what makes this possible, so from the members of the Rotary Club of Wheaton, thank you.

The club is currently seeking donations of goods and/or services for the Silent/Live Auction portion of Christmas Inn from business and community leaders. Each donated item will bear the donor’s name on the auction table and be listed in the main program. Information about the donor’s business can be displayed with the donated items. Last year, over 400 guests attended this fundraiser, and the club is planning for another record-breaking event. Many of the attendees hold senior management positions in their companies. These professionals not only support the Rotary Club of Wheaton but are also their company’s decision makers, which businesses will be exposed to when they support Christmas Inn. As another benefit, the cost of donated items can either be viewed as tax deductible or as a business advertising expense.
