Wheaton Streetscape: Work Begins On New Martin Memorial Plaza

WHEATON, IL — Now that the weather has been brighter, construction crews have begun moving forward with the large-scale project of revamping the downtown Wheaton Streetscape. So far, work has started on the new Martin Memorial Plaza and changes have been made to the old plaza.

Crews removed the fountains from the original Martin Memorial Plaza and are working to build the new plaza in its new location. Other improvements that have moved forward include repairs to curbs and the installation of temporary lighting on some downtown streets.

In the coming weeks, more work will be done on curbs, lighting, landscaping and other parts of the project.
