Wheaton Student Gets Perfect Score On ACT

The St. Francis High School student got the highest score possible on the difficult exam.

WHEATON, IL — If Suman Manek was nervous about taking the ACT, it certainly didn't show in her score. Manek, a junior at St. Francis High School in Wheaton, aced the ACT with a perfect score of 36.

Of the more than 2 million students who took the exam, fewer than 3,000 earned the coveted top score on the pre-college exam, which tests students in English and Math, and then generates a composite score.

Academic achievements aren't anything new to Manek. Trudy Rigney, who works as director of counseling at St. Francis described Manek as "incredibly intelligent and dedicated." Just before she learned of her perfect score, Manek was elected to be an officer of the National Honor Society at the high school.

As an extra nod of encouragement, Manek received a letter from ACT Executive Officer Marten Roorda, saying, “Your achievement on the ACT is significant and rare. While test scores are just one of multiple criteria that most colleges consider when making admission decisions, your exceptional ACT composite score should prove helpful as you pursue your education and career goals.”

Congratulations, Suman!
