Wheaton to Celebrate Prairie Path’s 50 Years with Annual Cleanup

Environmental Improvement Commission seeks volunteers to help out with the annual Prairie Path Cleanup Saturday, April 27.

The City of Wheaton's Environmental Improvement Commission is looking for volunteer groups and individuals to help with  the annual Prairie Path Cleanup 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 27. 

The cleanup starts from Stevens Park, located at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and the Illinois Prairie Path in Wheaton. Any group wanting to clean a specific area should e-mail cleanupthepath@yahoo.com ahead of time.

The Illinois Prairie Path is a 61-mile nature trail in the place of the former Chicago Aurora & Elgin electric railroad. The Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission organizes the cleanup for the portion of the path that runs through Wheaton.
