Reported Child Luring Incident 'Not Criminal:' Wheaton Police
Police say they have determined that the woman's interaction with the minor was "not criminal."

WHEATON, IL -- After an investigation, Wheaton Police say a reported interaction in which a woman in a minivan offered candy a minor near Edison Middle School was "not criminal." Police did not offer additional details, but said there is no threat to the public.
The child told police the woman pulled up to them in a silver minivan while they were walking home from Edison Middle School near the intersection of Elm Street and Naperville Road around 3:15 p.m. Police say the minor refused the candy and the woman drove east on Elm Street from Naperville Road.
In a post on social media, police thanked those who contacted them regarding the encounter who "helped us bring closure to this concerning incident."
