2 Wilmette Homes Ransacked on Same Day: Cops

Police responded to similar residential burglary reports within hours on Dec. 7.

WILMETTE, IL - Police in Wilmette responded to two residential burglaries on the same day last week.

A resident in the 300 block of Prairie Avenue told police that a back window had been forced open and his house ransacked at some point between 6:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Dec. 7. Several valuables, including a laptop, were reported stolen.

A woman living in the 1000 block of Oakwood Avenue told police that from 3:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. that same day that the backdoor of her home was forced open and the home ransacked. Jewelry and other valuables were taken, police said.
