WILMETTE, IL — Wilmette residents cleaning up after yesterday's storms can put large fallen or broken tree branches and limbs at the curb for a special collection by Village Public Works crews.
"The Village is only able to collect limbs that are placed at the curb." It also states, "We expect to continue clean-up activities through mid-August; please bring only large tree limbs to the curb by early next week to ensure timely collection."
The village also drew a line between what crews will pick up and what property owners will need to handle on their own. According to the notice, damaged trees on private property should be removed by private contractors. Smaller twigs and brush should be disposed of as yard waste instead of being left out for the special limb collection.
For residents looking for more information on regular yard waste disposal, the village directed them to the LRS website.
Questions about the special collection can be directed to Wilmette Public Works by email at pubworks@wilmette.com or by phone at 847-853-7500.
