Annual Town Meeting April 9th at New Trier Township

This years meeting theme is Caring In Action, a phrase that captures the spirit of the North Shore.

The 170th Annual Town Meeting of New Trier Township is scheduled for Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Township Hall located at 739 Elm Street in Winnetka. This years meeting theme is Caring In Action, a phrase that captures the spirit of the North Shore, neighbor-helping neighbor. A reception and open house begins at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m.

“I hope our residents will attend the meeting and take part in shaping the future of the township. We encourage feedback about our work and invite suggestions on ways we can strengthen our services,” said New Trier Township Clerk Jerome Hoynes.

Township Supervisor Alan Goldberg and Clerk Hoynes will present several service awards and recognize the Peer Jury Scholarship winner as part of the evening’s business. A new award in honor of the late Harriet Hahn, the Lifetime Service Award will be presented posthumously to the late Paddie Brennen, former Supervisor of New Trier Township. A member of Paddie’s family will accept the award. Trustee Elliott Robbins will also address the group regarding the work of township social service committees.

Township Assessor Jan Churchwell will present her annual report and update attendees on the latest Triennial Reassessment news.
