Attempted Thief Backs Down When Confronted by Walgreens Management: Cops

Someone reported a bicycle stolen from the Linden Avenue CTA station.

The following information is from the Wilmette Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

ATTEMPTED RETAIL THEFT
A person entered the Walgreens store at 3232 Lake Avenue at 10:12 a.m. on Sept. 12 and placed two boxes of Align probiotics into a plastic Walgreens bag. When confronted by management, the subject handed over the bag and left the store. The total value of the product was $84 and it was recovered in full.

AUTO BURGLARY ARREST
Detectives arrested Stephon Pugh, 19, Chicago after surveillance video showed him using a credit card taken in an auto burglary in the 1400 block of Forest on Aug. 12. He was charged with the use of the card, not the burglary. The property was taken in an unlocked no-force auto burglary.

BICYCLE THEFT
A black Trek street bike valued at $400 was stolen from the Linden Avenue CTA station at some time between 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 13. The bike was locked to the bike racks.

QUICK CHANGE SCAM
Two people attempted a quick change scam at the jewel at 411 Green Bay Road at 5:14 p.m. on Sept. 15.
