Avoca School District #37 Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Jauch, was named the Executive Director of the North Cook Intermediate Service Center (NCISC)/Regional Superintendent for North Cook County last Thursday, November 8. He replaces Dr. Bruce Brown who will be retiring at the end of the 2018-2019 school year. Dr. Jauch has served on the NCISC Governing Board for 5 years and is very familiar with their operations and the services they offer.

The North Cook region includes 39 public school districts and over 145,000 students enrolled in the 200+ public school buildings in the area, including Avoca. Dr. Jauch stated, “I am excited for the opportunity to use my experience and skills in this unique educational capacity, while also being able to continue to support the Avoca School District.”

The Avoca Board of Education will begin the process of hiring a search firm to replace Dr. Jauch immediately. Avoca Board of Education President, Rick Zelinsky shared, “The Board of Education wishes Dr. Jauch well in his new endeavor, and thanks him for his 13 years of dedicated service to the Avoca District. ” President Zelinsky went on to say, “We look forward to continuing our professional relationship with Dr. Jauch, though in a different capacity in the future.”

The NCISC serves as the Regional Office of Education for the public school districts of the North Cook County region, and as such plays an important role as the intermediary and advocate in Springfield for the public schools of the region. Supports for local educators are provided in the areas of professional development, licensure, facility safety and improvement, bus driver training, truancy, homelessness, and alternative schools. The ISC also conducts the inspections of the non-public schools of the region.

Dr. Jauch will begin this new position on July 1, 2019.

Avoca School District 37 serves portions of Chicago's North Shore suburban communities of Wilmette, Winnetka, Glenview and Northfield and is part of New Trier Township.
