Basil, Bielinski and Wolf Win Village Trustee Seats
Mike Basil will retain his position as Bob Bielinski and Julie Wolf are welcomed for the first time to the village board.

, and have been elected to serve four-year terms as trustees for Wilmette's Village Board.
A total of six candidates were running for three slots, with the remaning contenders including , and . While Wolf and Bielinski are newcomers, this will be Basil's second term as trustee.
"I feel good about the vote results, I feel like my hard work in the last four years has been validated," incumbent Mike Basil told Patch, "I’m looking forward to working with two new people to try and get the phenomenal, unrealized potential of downtown Wilmette improved." Meanwhile newcomer Bielinski said he started his day at 4:48 a.m. putting up signs at polling stations. Throughout the day family, including Bielinski's mother, as well as friends assisted with his meet-and-greet campaign.
"Old fashioned meeting the voters and shaking hands paid off." Bielinski said, "I’m just honored that the residents of Wilmette have shown confidence in me and I’m excited to get to work."

Instead of heading out today, Wolf hosted coffee at the Wilmette train station on Monday. After voting earlier today, Wolf hosted a party at her home Tuesday evening.
"As the results were coming in I was a little nervous at first." Wolf said, "I was so glad to see such a large voter turnout."
