CJE SeniorLife Elects New Leadership at 43rd Annual Meeting
The leadership of CJE SeniorLife elected a new slate of officers for the 2016 fiscal year at the organization's 43rd Annual Meeting.

The leadership of CJE SeniorLife elected a new slate of officers for the 2016 fiscal year at the organization’s 43rd Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Weinberg Community for Senior Living in Deerfield.
New members of the Board of Directors, each slated for a three-year term:
- Steven Anixter, of Chicago, has been an active member of the electrical distribution industry for more than 45 years. He recently retired after his 25-year tenure as President of Advance Electrical Supply Company. He has been involved with various electrical associations in leadership capacities, has served on the boards of various Jewish-affiliated agencies, and is a past Chairman of the Midwest Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science.
- Robert E. Landsman, of Highland Park, was a partner in the health care practice of a major public accounting and consulting firm for over 25 years before he became CFO of a Chicago-area community hospital for 10 years. He recently retired after another 10 years as CFO at Presbyterian Homes of Illinois—one of the fifty largest non-profit senior care organizations in the United States—and one year as interim CEO.
- Terry L. Schwartz, of Deerfield, has worn several entrepreneurial hats, but for the past several years she has been designing jewelry sold in North Shore boutiques. During her weekly visits to Lieberman Center for Health and Rehabilitation, she helps plan volunteer meetings as the “Friendly Volunteer” captain and organizes the library. Terry is also involved with the Chicago Jewish Women’s Foundation and Shalva.
- Rich Silverstein, of Wilmette, founded Silverstein Realty Group in 2010 to own and operate multifamily properties, but has been involved in multifamily housing since 2004. He has been serving as a community member of CJE’s Real Estate Committee. Rich previously practiced corporate and securities law for 10 years, and served on the Board of Friends of Yemin Orde and Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah’s Board of Directors.
- Michael G. Stein, of Skokie, is an owner and operator of assisted living communities in Illinois and Michigan. He also develops and invests in various other real estate projects including retail, apartment, and single family home developments. Prior to entering the assisted living business, he spent 17 years as a banker, specializing in commercial real estate lending.
- Rabbi Carl Wolkin, of Northbrook, recently retired after 35 years as the Senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth Shalom in Northbrook. He previously served as Associate Rabbi of Temple Israel of Great Neck for eight years. He presently serves on the JUF Board, President of the Community Mikvah of the Conservative Movement, and as Rabbi Emeritus of Beth Shalom.
