The electric company said all outages should be restored by midnight Friday.

Meanwhile ComEd has restored power to 95 percent of affected Illinois customers by midnight Thursday. Out of 850,000 customers, that means just under 43,000 people are still without electric power. Additionally, more than 50 miles of electrical wire and 300 poles have been replaced.
“We understand that patience can be challenging particularly for those customers who are still without power,” said Frank M. Clark, ComEd chairman and chief executive officer. “We are using all the resources available to us, including crews from more than a dozen states, allowing us to restore service faster than any time in the last decade.”
