Customer Robbed While Ordering at Coffee Shop: Cops
An unknown assailant Saturday made off with money from the victim's wallet after a brief struggle.

WILMETTE, IL—A man stole money from a coffee shop customer this past weekend after the two struggled over the customer's wallet while he was ordering, according to Wilmette police.
The customer at Alchemy Coffee House, 416 Linden Ave., was not injured in the tussle, police said, adding that no weapons were used in the crime that happened Saturday, May 7.

The victim told police that as he was making a purchase at Alchemy at about 11 a.m., an unknown man tried to snatch the victim's wallet. The two fought, and the unknown man grabbed money from the victim's wallet before fleeing to the Linden CTA station and escaping on a southbound train, police said.

- an unshaven African-American in his mid-30s to early 40s
- 5'11" to 6'3" in height
- stocky build
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark coat, dark pants and dark shoes. He also was carrying a dark gym bag, police said.
