District 39 Summer Projects On Schedule Despite Rain

Only one delay has been caused due to weather, and it won't affect the upcoming school year.

A rainy month of June has not stopped the progress on the summer construction of four projects at Wilmette School District 39 schools.

Roof work at Highcrest Middle School is the only project that has been delayed at all this summer, but even that is expected to be complete by the time the school year starts, according to the Wilmette Life.

“Each week I go to meetings and I keep expecting someone to drop a (scheduling) bomb on me. It hasn’t happened. It’s a miracle, and we’re on track,” Gail Buscemi, the district’s business manager said. “The rain hasn’t stopped us.”
