Green Bay Road Development Reduced From 6 to 5 Stories
Wilmette village board unanimously approves plan to take out middle floor of proposed development.

An amended plan changing what would be a 6-story building at 611 Green Bay Road in Wilmette to a 5-story was approved unanimously by village trustees this week, according to the Daily North Shore.
An amended contract was discussed as part of an executive session held prior to a public meeting between the village and M & R Development, LLC - which entered a $4.1 million contract in September.
Changes in the plan, which was given a negative recommendation at the previous meeting, include reducing the height of the building from six to five stories and reducing the price from $4.1 million to $3.1 million.

By removing a middle floor, the new plan would have 6,316 square feet with 75 rental apartment units on the upper floors, and retail space on the first level, with parking on the first and second levels.
The original plan called for a total of 95 rental apartments on the upper floors.
