Daughter Stabbed Mom Multiple Times, Police In Wilmette Say

WILMETTE, IL - An adult daughter stabbed her mother multiple times at a home in Wilmette Thursday morning, police in the north suburb said. A heavy police presence ascended upon the 1900 block of Highland Avenue shortly after 7 a.m. to the apparent domestic incident.

Wilmette police say the suspect fled the home before officers responded but was taken into custody shortly after in the 2000 block of Washington Avenue. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Charges have not been announced against the daughter, who remained unidentified as of 1 p.m. Thursday. A further investigation by the Wilmette Police Department is ongoing.
