Jewel Employee Battered Over Lack of Beer: Cops
A 76-year-old man was charged with battery when police arrived at the store on Monday.

WILMETTE, IL - A customer at the Jewel-Osco store in Wilmette was charged with battery on Monday after he allegedly battered an employee.
Police responded to the store in the 1500 block of Sheridan Road at 3 p.m., when they arrested Richard Egen, 76, of the 1200 block of Central in Wilmette.
Egen is accused of battering the employee when he became upset that the store had no beer available that was not in a cooler.

Egen was given an LO citation for battery and released at the scene.
