The new Wilmette boutique connects founder John O'Donnell's hometown ties with the brand's Midwest debut.
WILMETTE, IL — Golf apparel brand Johnnie-O will celebrate the grand opening of its newest boutique at Plaza del Lago in Wilmette on Saturday.
The store carries a hometown connection for the company, as founder John O'Donnell has ties to the North Shore, where he grew up.
“Our founder, John O’Donnell, grew up a stone’s throw from our new digs and is thrilled to bring his brand to the Chicagoland area,” Johnnie-O’s said.

Founded in 2005 by Chicagoland native O'Donnell, Johnnie-O describes its style as traditional East Coast looks with West Coast influence and Midwest grit. The brand offers men's, women's and boys' collections, including everyday clothing, dressier options, athletic wear and swim. The company sells officially licensed apparel from the NFL, NHL, MLB and NCAA.
The opening adds another retail tenant to Plaza del Lago, a longtime Wilmette shopping destination. For Johnnie-O, the opening marks its first standalone store in the Midwest while linking the brand back to the founder's roots in the north suburbs.
