The Chicago Young Americans announce that their 2002 Elite Pewee team has been accepted to the Quebec Pee Wee Int. Tournament

The Chicago Young Americans are very proud to announce that their 2002 Elite Pewee team has been invited to participate in the 56th edition of this prestigious event held in Quebec City, Canada February 11th till the 22rd: The Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament.
The tournament, frequently referred to as either “the Q” or the equivalent of the “Peewee World Championships,” is annually attended by more than 2,250 competitors from 16 different countries. It is also the oldest and most prestigious youth hockey tournament in the world. The Q is the centerpiece of the third largest global outdoor festival; the annual Quebec City “Winter Carnival,” which has brought in hundreds of thousands of visitors to this winter wonderland. The tournament alone has drawn over 500,000 spectators in its 54 year history, as many as 10,000 in a single game.
Many of the best 11 and 12 year old hockey players from around the world will convene in Quebec City in February, 2015 to compete and honor their shared effort, character and success. Over 1400 NHL players have played in the historic Q over the years, including Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. The entire CYA organization is honored to have our first ever team to earn an invitation to play in this legendary tournament. We are also looking forward to spending a week in Quebec; taking in the culture, walking along the cobble stoned streets of old Quebec City, enjoying the local fare and most of all, showing the Canadians the level at which teams from Chicago are capable of competing.
The CYA Pee Wee Major team recently won the Bauer World Invitational AAA Elite Championship held in Chicago where almost 600 teams from 8 different countries and 30 different states competed. The team is made up of kids from all over the Chicagoland area, players include Zach Bader, Aurora, Brian Dolby, Winnetka, Max Dukovac, Aurora, Aaron Eberhardt, Naperville, Lachlan Getz, Northfield, Tyler Horberg, Highland Park, Richie Hoskins, Lake Forest, Quinn Hutson, Barrington, Hank Kempf Wilmette, Luke Lewis, Deerfield, Matt O’Donnell, Glen Ellyn, Mack Oliphant, Northbrook, Graham Padgitt, St. Charles, Daniel Rozsival, Chicago, Cole Schneider, Long Grove, Tucker Tynan Deerfield and Luke Weilandt, Wilmette.
