Man Killed by Red Line Train in Chicago; Service Stopped Temporarily

Apparent suicide occurred Monday night at Loyola station on North Side.

One person was killed after being hit by a CTA Red line train in Chicago Monday night.

A CTA spokeswoman informed DNAinfo.com Chicago that a 56-year-old man was struck by the northbound train around 7:45 p.m. at the Loyola station. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. A Chicago Police Department spokeswoman said the death appears to be a suicide.

All northbound trains from Loyola were temporarily out of service.
