New Trier Area Schools Offer Post-Spring Break COVID-19 Tests

Registration is open for a temporary testing site at a Wilmette elementary school planned for next month, according to district officials.

WILMETTE, IL — Officials at seven New Trier Township public school districts have partnered to offer a coronavirus testing site next month at a Wilmette elementary school.

The site is scheduled to be operational ahead of students' return from spring break. Testing will be free to students, parents or community members, but pre-registration is required, officials announced.

Testing will be offered in the gymnasium of Marie Murphy School, 2921 Illinois Road, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Friday, April 2, to Sunday, April 4 and again on Saturday, April 10.

Any children scheduled for testing will require a consent form signed by a parent or guardian to be tested, according to district officials at New Trier Township High School and its six feeder districts.

Copies of the forms and a link to reserve an appointment are available online.

Those who sign up for appointments were asked to bring an insurance card or state-issued identification.

Results from the simple nasal swab tests will be provided between 24 and 48 hours of testing.

The clinic is being provided by North Shore Clinical Labs. Those with questions were asked to call 773-570-6510 or email customerservice@northshoreclinical.com.

Appointments for free testing are also available at Flick Park in Glenview.
