New Trier Straw Poll: Neighbors Reject Trump, Rauner and Wall,

and Want Immigrant Protections

WINNETKA, Ill., Aug. 2, 2018 – New Trier Township neighbors strongly reject President Trump, Governor Rauner and a massive border wall, feel the country worse off since the 2016 elections, think Democrats should control Congress next year and firmly seek protection of Dreamers and fair procedures for immigrants. These are results of the annual non-partisan straw poll, conducted at the Wilmette, Winnetka and Glencoe village fairs this summer and developed by New Trier Democrats. Of all 327 surveys returned, Winnetka residents, who trend more Republican, posted nearly the same answers as Wilmette and Glencoe residents.
