Dr. William H. Plotkin, age 86 of Skokie died Wednesday.
Beloved husband of the late Adele nee Silverman (1998-2011) and the late Dr. Hedda Aufricht (1951-1993).

Devoted father of Laura (Stephen) Hoepfner and stepfather of Gail (Ronald) Lichterman, Lynn (John) Becker, and Jean (Mitchell) Claver.
Proud grandfather of Frances and Owen Hoepfner, David and Samantha Lichterman, and Ryan (Elizabeth), Eric (Jennifer), and Tania Claver.

Loving brother of Jeanette (the late Henry) Latman and the late Seymour (the late Elaine) Plotkin. Fond uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
A native of Chicago, Dr. Plotkin graduated from Parker High School in 1945 and was a longtime member of the Parker High School Reunion Committee.
Upon graduation, he joined the US Army and was a World War II veteran, serving in the Aleutian Islands until 1947.
Dr. Plotkin was a graduate of Roosevelt University and Northwestern University where he received his PhD in Speech and Hearing in 1957. He was an assistant professor of Clinical Speech, Ear Nose and Throat Department, University of Illinois College of Medicine for 58 years.
For the past 15 years, Dr. Plotkin served on the Skokie Board of Health.
Service Monday 2 p.m. at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie.
Interment private.
