Hadassah Chicago-North Shore (CNS) Offers Fun-Filled "Summer Camp" of Cultural Programs on Israeli Cooking, Music, & Literature, Cinema & TV

(July 10, 2017 – CHICAGO, IL) – The Nosher Food Editor Shannon Sarna will present “The Dynamic Cuisine of Jerusalem” in a live cooking demonstration at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 12 as part of Hadassah Chicago-North-Shore’s (CNS) “Summer Camp” programs of cultural and educational programming to its membership and Chicago area residents, announced Luisa Ellenbogen, President, Hadassah CNS. The “Summer Camp” events place at Beth Hillel Congregation Bnai Emunah, 3220 Big Tree Lane, Wilmette, IL. Tickets are still available for July 12 and walk-ins are welcome. The “Summer Camp” programs on July 12, 19 and 26 from 10:00 AM – 12 noon will offer special Israeli-themed programs for women, men, young adults, and families including:
- July 12 -- The Dynamic Cuisine of Jerusalem – Join Hadassah food guru and The Nosher Food Editor Shannon Sarna for a live cooking demonstration and a look at the fast-changing cuisine of Jerusalem; Leah Polin and Judi Steinberg are chairpersons. The cooking demo is part of "Every Bite Counts: Hadassah's Nutrition Program.
- July 19 –The Arts in Jerusalem – Literature, TV & Cinema – Rachel Kamin, Director of the Joseph & Mae Gray Cultural & Learning Center offers a guided tour of current Israeli literature. Cindi Stern, Director of the Chicago Festival of Israeli Cinema discusses modern Israeli cinema and television; Lillian Mann and Bobbi Levin are chairpersons;
- July 26 – Music & Melodies of Jerusalem -- Cantors Marla Aviva Bentley, Rayna Green, Faryn Kates Rudnick, Menahem Kohl and Hasha Musha Perman return by popular demand to offer an inspirational program with a musical exploration of Jerusalem through the ages; Barbara Epstein is chairperson.
