Park District to Review Boat Safety Restrictions

Officials will examine the regulations in October.

The Wilmette Park District will review its weather-related sailing restrictions during an October Parks and Recreation Committee meeting to review, The Wilmette Life reports.

The decision comes on the heels of two men being rescued from a capsized sailboat Sunday morning, according to The Life. Neither man was injured during the incident.

Meanwhile the issue has previously been discussed, but "district policy has been not to restrict sailboat access in bad weather," Recreation Superintendent Kathy Bingham told the paper.
