Residential Burglary, Stolen Bike, Retail Theft: Wilmette Cops

BURGLARY TO AUTO
On Nov. 1 at 2:16 a.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Wilmette Ave. regarding a burglary to auto that had just occurred. The caller stated he observed two male black teenagers in dark clothing entering his neighbor's car that was parked in the driveway of the townhomes.

BURGLARY TO GARAGE
On Nov. 1 at 5:46 p.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Lake Avenue reported that he found a bicycle on the sidewalk near his drive. It was discovered that the bike was stolen from the 1300 block of Gregory the previous night. The investigation revealed that the unlocked detached garage was burglarized and two unlocked vehicles were entered with nothing taken sometime between 8 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 6:40 a.m. on Nov. 1.

BIKE STOLEN FROM SCHOOL
At 4 p.m. on Oct. 26, a victim reported that an unknown offender stole his unlocked bicycle from the rack at Wilmette Junior High.
PACKAGE STOLEN / AGGRESSIVE SOLICITOR
1510 Washington. Between 12:40 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Oct. 14, a victim reported that an unknown offender stole a package that had been delivered and left on her front porch. She stated that earlier in the day she had a confrontation with an aggressive solicitor in front of her house.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
510 Laramie Avenue. On Oct. 19 between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., an unknown subject(s) gained entry to the home by force to a side door. The bedrooms were ransacked and money was stolen from the residence.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
101 Prairie Avenue. On Nov. 1 at 2:11 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Prairie Avenue reported that someone had entered his home through the unlocked west porch and entry door to the home between 10 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 1. He and discovered that a laptop computer was taken from his desk.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
On Nov. 1 at 1:29 p.m., a vehicle owner in the 100 block of Millbrook Lane reported that an unknown subject egged and keyed his vehicle. It occurred between 10 p.m. on Oct. 31 and noon on Nov. 1 while it was parked on his driveway next to his house.
BATTERY
On Nov. 3 at 12:46 a.m., a Wilmette resident stated that he was pushed to the ground by an unknown white man subject walking down the street in the 1200 block of Central Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the offender.
HIT AND RUN
Armando Sanchez, 37, Chicago was charged with driving without a license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to give information after a crash and improper merging into traffic at 7:19 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the 100 block of Green Bay Road. Wilmette officers responded to a hit and run traffic crash without injuries. An Evanston officer located and stopped the offending vehicle at 9410 McCormick Boulevard in Evanston.
RETAIL THEFT
Loss prevention from Carson Pirie Scott advised that two black women were observed on security tape taking a large quantity of clothing without paying for the merchandise at 8:55 p.m. on Nov. 7.
