Residents Can Shape Wilmette's New Housing Plan
The Village of Wilmette has created a survey to better understand the community's housing needs.
WILMETTE, IL — Wilmette residents have the opportunity to shape the village's new housing plan by responding to an official survey.
In 2024, Wilmette adopted its new Comprehensive Plan, Ready, Set Wilmette. The plan outlined five goals to guide a new approach to housing:
- Neighborhoods - A Community with Desirable Residential Neighborhoods
- Housing Stock Diversity - Housing that Meets the Needs of Current and Potential Future Residents
- Residential Development - A Diversity of Housing Stock in the Village
- Preserve Existing Affordable Housing and Housing Affordability - A Broad Array of Housing Opportunities in the Village
- Expand Workforce and Attainable Housing Access - Housing that is Attainable to Diverse Household Types
As the village now prepares a housing plan to achieve its goals, it's seeking the community's input about resident housing needs. The survey is anonymous and will be used to help inform the housing plan.
