Trevian Girls Roundup: Tennis, Cross-Country Capture Invitational Titles

The golf and field hockey teams beat their Lake Forest counterparts in dual matches.

Cross-Country: On the course where the state championships will be held, New Trier (33 points) dominated the 29-team field, easily outpacing runner-up Wheaton Warrenville South (107) and third-place Naperville North (115).

Jessica Ackerman was New Trier’s top runner finishing the three-mile course in 17 minutes, 15 seconds to take third place, but it was the Trevians’ depth that made the big difference. Mimi Smith (4th, 17:16), Courtney Ackerman (5th, 17:34), Julie Jackson (10th, 18:02) and Molly Krueger (11th, 18:02) gave the Trevians five of the first 11 finishers. Lockport was the only other high school to place more than one runner in the top 10.
