Video Footage Nabs Alleged CTA Bike Thief

A Chicago man faces a misdemeanor theft charge after allegedly being caught on surveillance stealing a $300 bicycle from a rack at the Linden Avenue CTA station in Wilmette.

Detectives set up surveillance of the bicycle racks in response to recent thefts from that same location. On July 16 at 2:15 p.m., they arrested 33-year-old Thomas Kusiciel, who was allegedly observed by detectives stealing the bike on surveillance.

The State’s Attorney’s office denied felony charges.
