Village Facilitates Flood Debris Clean-Up

Veolia Environmental Services will be providing additional pick-ups throughout Wilmette this week.

Wilmette's refuse collecting agency, Veolia Environmental Services, will be providing extra pick-up in , according to Village Manager Tim Frenzer.

Residents who experienced basement flooding, or storm-related damage can place these items next to their regular trash containers, Frenzer announced during Tuesday night's board meeting. "The emphasis will be to collect perishables and regular refuse from the toters first, if need be Veolia will return to pick-up any flood debris during a second trip the same day," Frenzer said, which is also highlighted on Wilmette's website.

Meanwhile the additional pick up is free as long as the debris does not exceed one cubic yard in size, Frenzer added. "Larger amounts of construction debris will require residents to make a separate contact with Veolia," he said. Additional refuse charges would be $15 per extra one cubic yard.
