We Are Family: Jewish Family as Told Through Musical Theater, Yiddish Theater, and Opera
This concert features works from "Children of Eden," "Falsettos," the infamous "Fiddler on the Roof," and operatic works by Gerald Cohen.

Saturday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. at Beth Emet Synagogue (1224 Dempster, Evanston)
Cantor Susan Lewis Friedman, who has been seen in the Broadway musical tour of CATS and has performed with artists such as Alberto Mizrahi, Betty Buckley, Judy Collins, George S. Irving along with special guest Cantor Daniel Singer from Stephen Wise Free Synagogue in New York, will perform stories in song about our Jewish family from famous Broadway musicals, Yiddish theater and Jewish operatic works. Musical direction and piano by Joyce Rosenzweig, a leading figure in Jewish Music today, having accompanied world famous artists and cantors of this generation in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Jewish Cultural Festival (Berlin), the Ashkenaz Festival (Toronto), the Chicago and Charlotte Yiddish Institutes, Klezkamp, the North American Jewish Choral Festival. She currently serves as artist in Residence at Hebrew Union College.
The concert also features special appearances by Cantor Andrea Rae Markowicz of Am Shalom in Glencoe, the Beth Emet Adult Choir, and memebers of the Maxwell Street Klezmer Band. Rabbi Andrea London will narrate the program. Learn more.
