Wilmette Blotter: Man Charged for Sexual Assault, $7K Rolex Stolen and More
The following incidents were reported to the Wilmette Police between July 27 and Aug. 1.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Two side mirrors to a black, 2010 Nissan Altima were pulled off on Aug. 1 at 11:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue. A man, who had parked his car and taken a walk with his girlfriend through , flagged down police when he discovered the damage.

Several symbols were graffitied on Wilmette Junior High School buildings, 620 Locust Road, between July 28 and July 29. One wall was tagged with several symbols and phrases including, "my burning pizza your toppings are delicious dripping down my thighs," which was painted in black and green. Another main wall had blue symbols and the phrase "boomshakalaka." A wall south of WJHS' main entrance had an x in blue, as well as a blue figure and three white figures spray painted on it. Meanwhile a sidewalk near the school was tagged with blue markings and the phrase "Where's Waldo?".

Walls at Regina Dominican High School, 701 Locust Road, were graffitied between 12:40 a.m. and 9:12 a.m. on July 29. Various symbols, including "brick", "neko" and "NU" were tagged on a wall, which resembled earlier damage done to Wilmette Junior High School. A nun who works at the school reported hearing male voices outside her window at 10:10 p.m. July 28.

Part of a backyard fence was pushed to the ground in the 800 block of Greenwood Avenue between 9 p.m. on July 30 and 9 p.m. on July 31.

SEXUAL ABUSE
A Winnetka man was held overnight Aug. 1 and taken to bond court after being charged with criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse of a minor. (Stay tuned to Patch for more on this story.)
THEFT
An unlocked bicycle was stolen from a home in the 1000 block of Greenleaf Avenue on Aug. 1 between 7 p.m. and 8:03 p.m.

A $7,000 Rolex watch was stolen from a home in the 2300 block of Schiller Road between Dec. 2010 and July 15. The owner reported the item missing on July 29 after inspecting the home.

Several pieces of diamond jewelry were stolen from a home in the 3000 block of Barclay Lane between July 17 and July 29. The missing items include: a pair of diamond stud earrings, a pair of diamond hanging earrings, a diamond pendant necklace and a 15-heart-shaped diamond ring. The owner said the ring was worth $3,000 and couldn't remember the value of the other pieces of jewelry.

An Ohio license plate was removed from a car parked in the 300 block of Ridge Road between July 18 and July 30. The owner said both mounting screws were removed from her front bumper and no other items were taken from the car.

An unattended bicycle was taken from a home in the 100 block of Central Park Avenue between July 25 and July 30. The item is a Schwinn Flight, 21-speed bicycle.
DUI
A 51-year-old Glenview man was stopped at the corner of Lake Avenue and Hunter Road on July 28 at 8:05 a.m. because the tire was missing from his front passenger-side wheel. The car had been resting on the rim while the driver was trying to make a left turn and was surrounded by an oil slick on the pavement. It was later discovered that the man was Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. He at first told authorities he hadn't had a drink in 10 years, and later admitted to having a half of a pint of vodka the night before. He refused a breath test. The man's tire likely went missing when he struck a curb earlier that morning near a Dunkin Donuts in Glenview.
ARREST
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the corner of 7th Street and Central Avenue on July 29 at 4:46 p.m. Police responded to a solicitor complaint at the corner of 7th Street and Central Avenue on July 29 at 4:46 p.m. After doing a name check on the 29-year-old solicitor, police determined the man was wanted on a Failure to Appear Warrant from Dupage County. He was arrested, held and later released on bond.
