Wilmette Man Charged with Dealing Pot

19-year old's arrest comes after complaints of transactions made in public.

A 19-year old Wilmette man faces five charges, including one felony, from an alleged drug operation based out of his residence in the 900 block of Pontiac.

Police arrested Joshua Hawkins after an investigation involving unmarked cars began in response to citizen complaints of drug transactions occurring on the public way.

A search warrant of Hawkins’ residence on Thursday turned up 12.7 grams of Cannabis, electronic scales, numerous plastic baggies, drug paraphernalia and $1,250 in U.S. Currency, according to police.

Hawkins is charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis 10-30 grams, a felony and three misdemeanors: unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a license and unlawful possession of alcoholic liquor. He was also issued a charge for a violation of release.
