Wilmette Obituary: Mary McDonough Connolly, 85

Mary McDonough Connolly, age 85, of Wilmette, Illinois. Longtime resident of Chicago’s North Shore, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease on November 22, 2015. She was born November 30th, the only child to the late Marie and the late George McDonough of Evanston. Loving wife of 54 years to Frank; cherished mother of Francis (Mary) and George (Jennifer); adoring Grandmother to Agnes, Virginia, Charlotte, and Emmet. Prior to her marriage, she was a fashion coordinator at Marshall Fields and a 2nd grade school teacher at St. Athanasius. Mary loved entertaining at her home for friends and family. She took great pleasure in her volunteer work with Service Club, Lyric Opera, Madonna Center, and Misericordia Home.

Visitation Friday, November 27, 2015, 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 1012 Lake Street, Evanston, IL 60201.

Interment is private at Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, IL.
