The Wilmette Park District is pleased to welcome our new Center for the Arts Program Supervisor Stacia Soeldner! Stacia has an exciting background that blends performing arts with education and administration. Starting out from college as a professional dancer with a degree in Math Education, Stacia traveled the world and performed at a variety of venues including cruise ships, dinner theaters, Las Vegas shows and overseas. “My love for dance started many years ago as a child taking dance classes in Lake Zurich,” said Stacia.

After retiring from dancing, she worked as a math teacher and school administrator. “I have always been able to stay active in the arts world, whether it be choreographing high school musicals, teaching Zumba, or performing in choirs,” she says. The Programs Supervisor position is a harmonious blend of Stacia’s love for the arts and her experience in administration. “I am looking forward to being fully back into the world of arts in this position!”

Stacia will be hitting the ground running with the return of our annual production, The Nutcracker, in early December. “I have many fond memories of performing in The Nutcracker while growing up and am really looking forward to working with the team here to put on the production again this year.” Going forward she will spend time familiarizing herself with the department and instructors, and brainstorming new programs to grow the department.

Outside of work, Stacia’s interests include other creative outlets like interior design, cooking, singing and tennis/paddle. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the Center for the Arts. “I am thrilled to be back in the area that I grew up in and sharing my love for the arts with the community here in Wilmette,” said Stacia.
