Please join us in welcoming our new Aquatics/Ice Supervisor Sayre Froelich! She is hopping on board with the Wilmette Park District to run the Centennial Family Aquatic Center, and to assist with hockey at the Centennial Ice Rinks. Sayre comes to us from her previous position as the Aquatics Manager at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Center in Chicago.

Her professional background ranges from program development and community building to safety and risk management. Sayre worked nine years at the YMCA in Charlotte, NC before relocating to the Lake View YMCA in Chicago, for the role of Aquatics Director in 2014. “I’ve spent most of my career in the non-profit world,” she said.
The Aquatics/Ice Supervisor position introduces a new component to her professional portfolio – the ice rinks. Sayre will be expanding her experience by handling hockey contracts. Excited with the new challenge, Sayre explains, “I’m also really looking forward to working outside again in the summer.”

Her plans for the future are honing in on programming at the Aquatic Center. “I’m hoping to utilize my skills in training and aquatic fitness instruction to serve the community,” said Sayre. Keep an eye out for new opportunities at the pool!
When she’s not busy by the pool or cooling off at the rinks, you can catch Sayre biking along the lakefront trail, searching for the best burger in town, or jumping on a plane to explore someplace new. Be sure to welcome her to the community the next time you’re at Centennial Recreation Complex.
