Wilmette PD: Motorist Fatally Strikes 91-Year-Old Pedestrian
Police said a 21-year-old driver hit the pedestrian on Green Bay Road Tuesday.

WILMETTE, IL — Wilmette police are investigating a fatal traffic crash between a 2004 Toyota and a 91-year-old Wilmette resident. Police were dispatched to the intersection of Green Bay Road and Linden Avenue at 8:48 p.m. on Tuesday, according Wilmette Sergeant Solveig Gehrken. The Toyota, driven by a 21-year-old man, was heading northbound on Green Bay Road and struck the pedestrian at the intersection with Linden Avenue, police said. The pedestrian was taken to Evanston Hospital and pronounced dead at 10:10 p.m.
Fayvus Naroditskiy, of Wilmette, died from blunt force injuries as a result of being hit by a car, according to an autopsy by the Cook County Medical Examiner.
Police said there was no indication that alcohol or drugs was a factor in the crash. The crash is being investigated by Wilmette police along with the Major Crash Assistance Team.
